A long narrow street in the Old City of Cartagena
I've talked about leading lines in many of my posts and I will again. I never tire of them.
I was drawn in by leading lines so many times when I was in the Old Walled City in Cartagena when we were down in Colombia.
I took this photo because of the lines of the curb running down the sides of the street and how those lines were reflected all the way up both sides of the frame - the walls of the houses and the tops of the houses.
Is it my personality? A little bit obsessive-compulsive? There's something so beautiful about the perspective of the lines running into the distance. I don't feel like I describe it eloquently but I love it when I see it.
Leading lines are everywhere and I'm always drawn to capture them. They make me feel good - like there's order to the world.
I also love (if you haven't noticed!) bright colors, although I do love black and white photos too.
I underexposed this photo so the sky wasn't blown out (when it's so bright that there's no detail) but I still had to bring the exposure down on the sky to bring back the beautiful blue. I used a small brush in Lightroom to do that.
The street was consequently a bit too dark so I used another mask and a brush to bring up the exposure on the street and curb.
I really had fun with this photo.
I'm working right now on marking all the photos I want to use for my Cartagena gallery so I can go back and edit them. It's going to be a little while longer before I get that gallery up on the site but this is definitely one I'll include.
Do you see leading lines when you're wandering around? Are you drawn to them? I always wonder what others see when they're going about their daily lives.

It's not what you look at that matters, it's what you see.
I love that because it speaks to me about trying to see the best in people, situations, and places. I hope you see many things this week that make you want to smile or take a picture.
Have a great rest of your week, and see you between the raindrops!
xoxo,
Susan
I hope to get the Cartagena gallery added to my website soon!
